Be sure to use the supports that are available to you from LULAC Head Start or other educational, health or mental health consultants.  Attend training sessions for parents and use these as opportunities to gain knowledge that supports your role as a parent and to network with other parents. As a new parent, caring for your new baby is one of the most important things you will ever do. In order to do this to the best of your ability, it is important to take care of yourself as well.  This means ensuring you are physically and emotional healthy.

During the hours a baby is with you in your care, you are responsible for meeting the baby’s needs.  The baby relies on you to interpret communications and provide nurturing and responsive care. The pressures from these demands can sometimes be overwhelming and frustrating.
